I know I'm a bit late, but here's a thought for the New Year from Esther de Wall, Seeking God: The Way of St. Benedict. I read this in Simple magazine's January issue.
"Wealth consists not in having great wealth, but in having few wants."
Just so you know. . .When I consider my life, circumstances, and family; I feel very blessed. It's been a struggle over the past few decades to come to a place where I truly have very few wants. I am in a good place. I am profoundly grateful for this. When I was younger, I wanted for so many things. Things that would make my life easier....like an electric clothes dryer. Things that would make my life more balanced....like time away from kids to work out. Things that would help me feel that I had more choices..... like more than one tube of lipstick. I was at times caught in the thick of thin things. And now after all these years, having worked through many of those issues, I realize that my life has been designed with love in mind. That is the essence of myblog....Heartlights. Where I can light up a heart or two and bring some gladness to those who might visit here. Just so you know.
Today is a very special day....
